oldschoolgentleman submitted a new blog post Rocket League Charity Tournament May 14th! Loonies! The Rocket League tourney is back - and this time for charity! If you were unaware, Rocket League announced a FREE basketball-style DLC called “Hoops” which will be available April 26th. We felt that this in combination with our charity month would be a great opportunity to host yet another awesome Rocket League tournament. Click the link below to check it out. As this is a charity tournament for St. Jude, we will be asking every participant for at least a $5 entry fee via donation to the St. Jude page. (http://playlive.stjude.org/Lowco2525) PLEASE remember to put your Twitch name in with your donation to avoid confusion. We also encourage you to donate more than the minimum of $5 towards the charity, and have special candy multipliers based on the amount raised through entry fees! However, if you have already donated to Lowco’s St. Jude page, you are excluded from the entry fee. If you would still like to donate, we will count your most recent donation towards the candy prize pool. Here are the details regarding this month’s Tournament: Date: Saturday the 14th of May Time: 12pm EST to 7pm EST (during normal stream hours) Game: Rocket League Mode: Hoops Format: 3v3 Tournament Format: Groups + Knock-out rounds Prizes (Before Multiplier): 1st - 750 candy each 2nd - 400 candy each 3rd-4th - 200 candy each 5th-8th (if needed) - 100 candy each If you are placed below 8th (so, 9th and lower) you will receive 50 candy for just partaking in the event! So, there is no reason at all to not take part. Multipliers: <$100 = x1, $101-150 = x2, $151-200 = x3, $201+ = x5 The candy amounts above can increase based on the total amount you raise with your entry fees! (e.g. $101 raised = all candy prize amounts are doubled, $151 raised all amounts are tripled) Sign ups: End on Thursday 12th of May Click the button below to sign up as a solo person or with your full 3 man team: Once you have submitted a form, the players will then receive a Twitch Message confirming the sign up. So, be sure to keep an eye out for that. If you don't see it in your inbox, check your other and spam folder. Please keep in mind, that if you signed up as solo person you will be paired up with other random Loonies prior to the tournament. If your partners fail to show up, we will likely have alternates in place. The first round will start at 1pm EST, so we ask that all participants be present in the Discord #RLtourney Group Chat at 12:00pm EST. So we can start to organize and arrange games, ensure all participants are present and gives time for Lowco to do her intro. We ask every participant to ensure that their Steam name is set to be the same as their Twitch name for the duration of the tournament. Further details regarding the schedule for the tournament will be released after the sign ups have been closed and the tournament brackets have been drawn up.
